Terms of Service

Guardian is currently in early access. This page describes, in plain language, the terms that will govern use of the service. It is a working draft, not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer before general availability — the honest-disclosure standard we hold the product itself to applies here too.

Who this is for

Guardian accounts are created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian ("you"). Children do not create their own Guardian accounts — a child's device is paired to your family account using a code you generate from your dashboard. You are responsible for having the authority to install monitoring software on any device you pair.

What the service does — and doesn't

Every capability Guardian offers is labeled by what it actually enforces on a given device's operating system — full enforcement, best-effort, or network-level filtering only. We do not claim a capability that a platform's OS doesn't genuinely allow. See the features section on our homepage for the current, real breakdown per platform.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (annually, unless stated otherwise at checkout) through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — card entry happens on Stripe's own secure checkout page. You can view your current plan and manage or cancel your subscription from your dashboard's billing page at any time; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless we state otherwise.

Prices shown on our pricing page are illustrative pre-launch pricing and may change before general availability. We will always show the actual price you'll be charged before you complete checkout.

Acceptable use

• Don't use Guardian to monitor a device or person without the legal authority to do so.
• Don't attempt to circumvent, resell, or redistribute the service without our written permission.
• Don't use the service in a way that violates the law in your jurisdiction.

Termination

You can stop using Guardian and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a genuine violation of these terms, with notice where practical.

Limitation of liability

Guardian is provided on an "as-is" basis during early access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
